HOERBIGER is a more than 150 years old company with 7 manufacturing locations and more than 80 service centres throughout the world. Hoerbiger is engaged in designing, manufacturing and servicing of reciprocating compressor valves, Piston Rings, Packings, Piston Rods & Pistons.

HOERBIGER is the original designer and manufacturer of plate type valves most commonly used in Khosla – Chicago Pneumatic – Kirloskar- Ingersoll Rand compressors and has the patent of plate type of valves in its name.

HOERBIGER is OE supplier for Valves and its other Critical components (Rings & Packings, Rods, Pistons) to more than 262 compressor manufacturers worldwide including Khosla - Ingersoll Rand – Chicago Pneumatic - Kirloskar etc. in India and even to M/s. Crepelle, France who was earlier collaborator of Kirloskar and at present collaborator of CPT.

Hoerbiger valve assemblies are guaranteed for minimum 5000 working hours. Hoerbiger can also furnish inter- changeability certificate, if required. These valves & packings have been tried & tested in the most trying conditions in India, by giving unimaginable success in sustaining the Compressor Efficiency & performance. In short Hoerbiger Quality & engineering standards are un- matchable.

Why spend money on HydroCOM?

HydroCOM is a fast-acting, accurate control system for the safe and energy-saving operation of reciprocating compressors. This stepless control system allows the operator to compress only the required amount of gas, thereby avoiding unnecessary energy expenditure on compressing gas that would be surplus to requirements.

In addition, HydroCOM facilitates the start-up and shut-down of industrial processes, thereby increasing process reliability and at the same time creating a diagnostic platform for plant monitoring.

In no time at all, the operator can adjust the compressor according to varying process conditions, set the compressor to automatically compensate for such variations and therefore optimise the performance of the entire plant.

The basic principle of HydroCOM

Normally gas is being compressed during the compression stroke. With HydroCOM the suction valve is kept open by the unloader so certain amount of gas is pushed back into the suction chamber. Then, at a precisely defined point of time, the unloader is released and the suction valve closes. Therefore only the gas remaining in the cylinder is being compressed.

A unique ring design to overcome an old problem

The new design provides an even pressure distribution through the packing. Each single BOT Ring Pair (Balanced Overlapping Tangent) is an engineered combination of radial/tangential cut rings, whereby the radial cut ring supports the tangential cut one. This means remarkably increased lifetime of the BOT Ring Pairs and consequently of the whole pressure packing.

The OT design

The volume of oil entering the housing is minimised by the non-metallic throttle ring sticking to the front face of the wiper housing through "oil sticktion".
 
OT design versus Conventional design
Combined with this the OT wiper rings are designed to have a much smaller radial height than conventional rings allowing the rings to conform to the piston rod ensuring optimal scraping of the oil from the piston rod surface.
